Introduction: Experience the Spirit of Vengeance in Los Santos
With its endless creative possibilities, GTA 5 has become a hub for mod creators to create something truly unique. While many thousands of mods have already been created for GTA 5, the Ghost Rider Theme Script is arguably one of the most visually impressive and faithful to the original comic book legend character transformations you can add to your GTA 5. Are you a fan of the Marvel Comics series featuring Ghost Rider? Do you like the Nicolas Cage movies? Or do you prefer the more recent TV interpretations? No matter which iteration of Ghost Rider you enjoy, this mod allows you to bring your favorite version to life in the streets of Los Santos.
This Lua-based mod supports popular GTA 5 mod menus including Stand and Cherax. There are two outfits included within the mod, a male and female version, which include their own individualized JSON vehicle configurations. The male version spawns a completely customized Ghost Rider Motorcycle while the female version spawns a completely customized Ghost Rider Bicycle. Within this article I will provide details regarding what is contained within the mod package; explain how each element functions; demonstrate how to install this mod step-by-step; and offer suggestions for maximizing your entertainment value when playing your games. Let's begin.
What is Included in Your Downloadable Mod Package?
Although installing the mod is a relatively easy process, understanding what is included within your downloadable mod package is important prior to beginning the installation process. The Ghost Rider Theme package is provided as a zipped folder containing three key elements:
This Lua script transforms male characters in GTA 5 Online into the attire depicted in the comic books. This includes the leather biker jacket, black pants, gloves, boots, and additional items associated with his persona. All of these items are combined to form an overall impression that resembles Ghost Rider.
Similar to the previous file but instead focuses on transforming female characters in GTA 5 Online into the attire depicted in the comic books. To be able to accomplish this task successfully, the component and draw IDs used to match the female ped models' clothing systems were modified so that they would be applied properly to a female character. Although the scripts utilize similar coding, this ensures that whether you play as a male or female character, you will receive a comparable experience.
The JSON file represents a highly customized motorcycle that embodies the spirit of Ghost Rider. The vehicle configuration features glowing orange neon light strips on all four sides of the vehicle; orange-tinted fire burning from behind the tires creating orange-tinted smoke upon movement; a customized paint scheme; enhanced performance upgrades; and even a customized license plate reading 'RIDER.' This vehicle is perhaps one of the most detailed vehicle preset modifications you may encounter in any mod of this type.

Deconstructing the Outfit Scripts: Understanding Their Functionality
As mentioned previously, the LUA scripts function based on GTA 5's existing ped component and prop systems. For those interested in learning more about how the script functions technically, here is an explanation of how everything works beneath the surface.
Outfit Component System
To identify which clothing pieces are being worn by a player in GTA 5, the game employs a numerical index system for each clothing section of the body:
| Slot | Body Part |
|---|---|
| Slot 1 | Mask |
| Slot 3 | Gloves |
| Slot 4 | Legs / Pants |
| Slot 5 | Bags / Parachute |
| Slot 6 | Feet / Shoes |
| Slot 7 | Accessory |
| Slot 8 | Under Shirt |
| Slot 9 | Armor / Body |
| Slot 10 | Decal |
| Slot 11 | Upper / T-Shirt / Jacket |
Each clothing section utilizes two parameters: a draw id (the actual clothing item selected), and a texture id (the chosen color or texture option). As stated earlier, the Ghost Rider script specifies exact draw and texture ids throughout all sections to provide a total image.
For example, to create the male Ghost Rider outfit:
And for the female version:
In order to generate these values for each ped model, these numbers had to be generated separately due to differences in clothing systems among different ped models. Therefore there are separate files rather than a single generic file.
Prop System
In addition to clothing parts, GTA 5 has a prop system for wearing accessories such as hats/ears/glasses/wrists. The Ghost Rider script controls props across five slots:
| Slot | Prop Location |
|---|---|
| Slot 0 | Hats / Head |
| Slot 1 | Glasses |
| Slot 2 | Ears |
| Slot 6 | Left Wrist |
| Slot 7 | Right Wrist |
Props having a value of {-1,-1} indicates "no prop being used" in that slot; which is intended — the Ghost Rider look is intentionally missing some accessories to keep the overall aesthetic clean and accurate to character.
The Fire Skull Effect
This is where the mod really starts. The script contains a toggle switch (activated by the user pressing the X key on their keyboard [or the X/A button on controllers]) to activate a loop of firing particle effects on specific ped bones to achieve the iconic "flaming skull" look.
The particle effect used here is ent_sht_petrol_fire from the standard GTA 5 particle asset library — this is typically a fire effect that is part of the game's explosion and combustion systems. In the script, it will be fired on 5 specific bone hash ids on the player's head at precisely-timed intervals (every 2200 ms) to produce a continuous flame effect. The SoV (Spirit of Vengeance) bool toggle is a good feature — when X is pressed once, the effect is turned on; pressing it again turns it off, allowing users complete control over when they want to "change."
Ghost Rider Bike: A Full-Breakdown Spec List of the Vehicle Configuration
This is where the mod's focus on detail truly shines. Below is a breakdown of the main specifications of the Ghost Rider Bike configuration found within the vehicle .JSON file.
Base Vehicle & Color Scheme
All four neon light zones are active (true, true, true, true); using an RGB of (255, 62, 0) — a deep/intense orange-red color that effectively captures hellfire. The neons illuminate all areas of the underside of the bike, causing it to appear as though it is floating above burning asphalt.
Tire smoke is active and has been configured to use an RGB of (255, 127, 0), or bright fire-orange. As users perform burnouts or sharp turns with the bike, the bike will leave behind orange-colored tire smoke that looks just like hellfire burning. One of the most visually striking features of this mod package.

Tips for the Best Ghost Rider Roleplay Experience
You now have all of the necessary items; below are some tips to help enhance your overall experience:
Choose the Right Spot
For the best Ghost Rider moments, drive around Los Santos at nighttime in the dimly lit sections of town — the industrial port area, the vineyard areas of Blaine County at night, or the mountain roads of the Chiliad mountains make great backgrounds for taking pics/video when your bike's orange neon light is on and your character's head is on fire.Slow Down
If your mod menu allows you to slow down gameplay, doing so when the fire effect is activated makes for an excellent video clip/cinematic screenshot.Add More Mods
The Ghost Rider script works well with weather mods that include heavy storms/dark sky conditions or even a continuous night/day cycle. The contrast between the orange flames and a dark rainy night is visually beautiful.Capture Those Moments
Use either Rockstar's built in replay editor or external recording software such as OBS to record your Ghost Rider sessions in HD format and share them on YouTube/TikTok/social media.Test Both Characters
Try both versions of the Ghost Rider script whether you primarily play with a male character or a female character. The female version of the script includes clothing ID's for draw that create a slightly different outline than the male version and several people think that it looks equally as good.Compatibility Issues / Problems & Solutions
This script must be run within an active online free mode session. If you attempt to run it in story mode or while transitioning to another session type, the script will pop-up a message stating that it could not execute & exit. Simply enter a public/private free mode session & restart/reload the script.
When you've properly applied the outfit via the script, you should see this green confirmation message appear in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. If you do not see this message, please verify that the Lua script is located in the proper directory & that your mod menu's Lua interpreter is enabled.
Check to make sure that the Ghost Rider Bike.json file was copied into the same saved_json_vehicles/saved_vehicle_mods/etc. directory location where your mod menu loads saved vehicles from. Each mod menu loads saved vehicles from a slightly different named directory.
Since this script utilizes networked particle effects (as opposed to client-side), they should be viewable in multiplayer. However, if other players report seeing no flames, this may be due to either their game setting(s) or what particles are currently being processed in that particular session's network buffer.
Final Thoughts: What Makes This Mod So Awesome?
While simply an outfit mod, the Ghost Rider Theme Script offers a complete role-playing package that changes how you perceive & interact with GTA 5's virtual world. The amount of detail put into designing the outfit configurations, creating a realistic looking fire effect using networked particle effects and modifying a hell-fire themed vehicle with mechanical modifications as well as aesthetic ones (max engine, turbo boost, armor plating, etc.) make this one of the most detailed character theme mods available for GTA 5.
It's these layers that separate this mod from simple outfit mods — specifically:
